Austrian-Serbian cellist Ana Topalovic introduces a groundbreaking concert format with "Multicello," offering a deeply personal, imaginative, and creative musical journey. Renowned for her solo performances, Ana has graced prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall and Wiener Konzerthaus, earning numerous awards along the way. Her concerts are a seamless fusion of classical and contemporary, known and unknown, soundscapes and virtuosity.

Every Multicello performance revolves around a specific theme, contributing to an ever-expanding repertoire that continually showcases Ana's boundless creativity. She captivates her audience with engaging stories and anecdotes, seamlessly integrating acoustic and electric cellos with modern techniques and live electronics. Ana's gift of visual synesthesia enhances the musical experience, creating an evocative and immersive stage presence.

Bachiana

Ana Topalovic is a genuine visual synaesthetist. For her, music has colors and shapes - she can see music in so called photisms. This phenomenon opens up for Ana a new dimension of sound perception with which she searches for hidden interfaces. For this program she has selected five works by the contemporary women composers, which for her form a complementary relationship to the individual movements of Bach's Cello Suites.

Album “Bachiana” was released in 2022 with the Hänssler Klassik and was nominated in three categories for the prestigious Opus Klassik Awards: Best Solo Instrument, Newcomer and Instrumentalist Of The Year.

This avant-garde cello program serves as Ana’s sandbox, a playground of experimentation and innovation in performance. Celliphonia pushes the boundaries of traditional repertoire, constantly seeking new collaborations with composers and sound artists. With a dedicated focus on supporting women artists, Celliphonia embraces the fascinating realm of sound in all its forms.

At its core, Celliphonia thrives on improvisation and exploration. Nothing is off-limits; every note, every concept is an opportunity for artistic expression. Just as the musical landscape evolves, so too does Celliphonia, embracing diversity and opening new horizons in cello performance.
